I play two parts in tonight’s film, one a gentleman, the other a gentleman possessed by the spirit of an evil warlock.
Endless Vincent Price Appreciation - Working with Tim Burton
"His cameo [in Edward Scissorhands] had a real emotional content. He was in the first film I ever made and was so supportive of it and me. He’s an amazing guy, and I got through my childhood watching his movies."
- Tim Burton
Endless Vincent Price Appreciation - the Masque of the Red Death (1964)
"Price here presents evil intellectually, the relish tempered with cool disquisitions on the nature of fear, the domination over others effortless and indisputable, the moments of frenzy stylised and arresting."
- Peter John Dyer, on Vincent Price’s performance as Prince Prospero
Endless Vincent Price Appreciation - House of Usher (1960)
"In Usher, I bleached my hair white and wore pure white makeup with black eyebrows. There was this whole extraordinary thing that he was ultra-sensitive to light and sound, so I tried to give the impression that he’d never been exposed to the light, someone who had just bleached away."
Hey, hey, guys! Things are happening here, oooh~. I’m Alex, and the absolutely lovely and loveable Ash has kindly let me hop on board, here! ♥ I’m super excited about it!
Vincent is my favourite actor ever, and it’s so hard to pick which of his movies is my favourite! But I think I have to go with the Tingler, very closely followed by House of the Long Shadows.
I can’t wait to start posting and sharing the Vincent love with you guys! =)
Thank you! Congrats on your awesome tattoo. ;)
